USD faculty pianist to perform with SD Chamber Orchestra |

| VERMILLION, S.D. -- Susan Keith Gray, professor of music in the College of Fine Arts at The University of South Dakota, has been invited to perform a four-concert series with the South Dakota Symphony Chamber Orchestra this month. |

| The ensemble’s opening concerts of the 2009-10 season will feature pianist Gray in the “Piano Concerto No. 2 in B-flat, Op. 19” by Beethoven. The Sioux Falls performance will take place at 2:30 p.m. in the Belbas Theater of the Washington Pavilion of Arts and Science on Sunday, Sept. 27. This concert will be preceded by a tour to three area communities: Luverne, Minn., Thursday, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m.; Huron, S.D., Friday, Sept. 25 at 7:30 p.m.; and at Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, Saturday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. Please contact the symphony at sdsymphony@sdsymphony.org or at (605) 335-7933 for more information concerning venues.
Keith Gray is acclaimed as a specialist in collaborative playing and has performed in recital with a number of artists throughout the United States and abroad. She is in demand as a soloist, collaborative pianist, teacher, adjudicator and clinician. She has performed throughout the United States and in South America, Norway, South Africa, Japan, Panama and Taiwan. Solo awards include prizes in the MTNA Collegiate Artist Competition, and appearances with the Spartanburg and Savannah Orchestras. Acclaimed as a specialist in collaborative playing, she has performed in recital with numerous singers and instrumentalists in competitions, festivals and recitals. A member of The U’s resident Rawlins Piano Trio, she is the 2005 recipient of the USD’s prestigious Belbas-Larson Award for Excellence in Teaching.
