Dan Meyer named Outstanding Alumnus of the Year by USD Beacom School of Business

VERMILLION, S.D. -- The University of South Dakota Beacom School of Business honored Dan Meyer as its Outstanding Alumnus of the Year during its Board of Governors annual awards luncheon recently.
 
Meyer, a certified public accountant and a certified management accountant, received his B.S. from USD in 1983 and an M.S. in accounting from the University of Kansas in 1988. A tax partner at Ernst & Young for a decade, Meyer has operated from several different offices while working for Ernst & Young, including Detroit, Mich., Cleveland, Ohio, St. Louis, Mo., and Minneapolis, Minn.  His current responsibilities at E&Y are as the markets leader for the Federal Tax Consulting and Compliance group in the North Central Sub-Area.  Additionally, he leads the tax accounting methods group for the region. 

Prior to joining Ernst & Young, Meyer worked at a number of different public accounting firms, including McGladrey & Pullen, LLP, and Arthur Andersen.  Additionally, he spent close to four years in the financial services industry in northwest Iowa and Kansas City, Mo. A strong advocate of the Beacom School of Business and the accounting department at USD, Meyer is a past board member of the Ronald McDonald house and is currently active with The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  He presently resides in Northville, Mich. with his wife and two daughters.
