School of Business M.B.A. is ‘Rising Star’ according to FindyourMBA.com

VERMILLION, S.D. -- The website, FindyourMBA.com, cites the Beacom School of Business at the University of South Dakota for being a “Rising Star” and having one of the best M.B.A. programs in the world.

The Rising Stars 2011 rankings of FindyourMBA.com consist of the top 30 business schools globally that made significant improvements to their programs, based on student feedback. USD’s Master of Business Administration program is ranked No. 18 overall and receives praise for “emphasizing analytical and critical thinking skills, evaluation of alternative courses of action, understanding of the impact of the business environment on business decisions, and application of ethical principles in identifying and resolving business dilemmas.”

“USD’s M.B.A. is a real value to students because of its affordability.  It is a high quality degree that is well regarded by the business and academic communities,” stated Angeline Lavin, Director of Graduate Business Programs for the Beacom School of Business. “We are proud that the Beacom M.B.A. has received this recognition. Our faculty and students know that the Beacom M.B.A. is an integrated business learning experience of the highest caliber.”

The IE Business School achieved the highest Rising Stars 2011 ranking from FindyourMBA.com. The complete Rising Stars 2011 list is available at www.findyourmba.com/fymba-rising-stars-2011. The Beacom School of Business, which remains the only business program in South Dakota accredited by the Association to Advance College Schools of Business (AACSB) International, is the lone business school from the Midwest to be represented. The ranking criteria is based on several factors, including current data and plans of the future, forum activity, internet activity among M.B.A. students, the political climate, long term investments of business schools and their strategic choices.
