Retiring Med School Dean to be honored with Open House |
| VERMILLION, S.D. -- A retirement open house for Rodney Parry, M.D., vice president for health affairs at the University of South Dakota and dean of the Sanford School of Medicine of the University of South Dakota, will be held Friday, April 20. |
Scheduled to run from 4-5:30 p.m. at the Health Science Center - Room 106, 1400 West 22nd St. in Sioux Falls, the event will honor Parry’s 36 years of service to the School of Medicine and to the South Dakota medical community. This event is free and open to the public. Born and raised in Canistota, S.D., Parry graduated from USD’s medical school in 1967 with a B.S.M.D. He later received his M.D. from the University of Wisconsin and completed his residency training at the Mayo Clinic. He joined the faculty of USD’s medical school in 1976, and served in that capacity until becoming vice president and dean in 2004. Succeeding Parry as vice president and dean will be Mary Dekker Nettleman, M.D., M.S., M.A.C.P.,who begins her tenure April 2.
