USD student chosen to attend Clinton Global Initiative Conference

VERMILLION, S.D. -- University of South Dakota student Abby Wolf has been selected to attend the 2012 Clinton Global Initiative Conference, March 30 through April 1, at Washington, D.C.

Wolf, a sophomore biology major from Jordan, Minn., will have an opportunity to meet and network with other students hoping to make a difference in their communities by attending workshops on action plan development, community partnership development, working with the media, overcoming obstacles and fundraising.

The focus of the 2012 Clinton Global Initiative Conference will center on pressing global issues in education, environment and climate change, peace and human rights, poverty alleviation, and public health. Wolf was selected as an AmeriCorps member serving as part of a grant awarded to USD’s Center for Academic Engagement. In addition to studying biology, Wolf is also active in several organizations at USD, including Alpha Phi sorority, the Alternative Week of Off-Campus Learning (AWOL), Dance Marathon, Student Ambassadors and Pre-Med Society.
