USD Office of Admissions plans Fall 2013 registration event for Rapid City area incoming freshmen

VERMILLION, S.D. -- Western South Dakota high school seniors attending the University of South Dakota at Vermillion this fall won’t have to worry about lengthy car rides or summer scheduling conflicts to register for their classes. To accommodate incoming freshmen from the Rapid City area, USD will host a registration event for the Fall 2013 semester at the University Center – Rapid City, April 14-15.

Students and their families, who would typically travel lengthy distances to attend registration programs at USD’s main campus in Vermillion, can now meet with USD Admissions staff and register for classes from 3:30 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, April 14 and from 3:30 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 15.

“This is a great opportunity for USD to bring our services to students and families from the Rapid City area who will be attending USD at Vermillion, and provide them with an event that mirrors our Fast Track program for accepted students,” explained Jeff Baylor, vice president of marketing, enrollment and student services. “It’s a great way to eliminate travel issues or scheduling complications and bring the USD experience to them.”

As a part of USD’s incoming class for 2013, students from the Rapid City area will also have an opportunity to set up their USD email account, submit their immunization records and other requirements needed for registration, as well as apply for University Housing in Vermillion. For more information about the event at the Rapid City University Center, please contact the USD Office of Admissions at (605) 677-6055 or email admissions@usd.edu.
