USD’s 62nd annual Summer Music Camp is July 7-12

VERMILLION, S.D. -- The University of South Dakota Department of Music is hosting the 62nd annual USD Summer Music Camp, July 7-12.

This year’s camp, which features more than 180 high school and middle school student musicians from the quad state area, culminates with three special performances: at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 11 at Aalfs Auditorium featuring jazz bands, show choirs and percussion ensembles; at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 12 at Aalfs Auditorium featuring concert bands, concert choirs and a string orchestra; and at 11:45 a.m. on Friday, July 12 at Colton Recital Hall in the College of Fine Arts featuring chamber strings, opera, chamber choir and additional small ensembles.

The USD Summer Music Camp is open to students who have completed grades 5-12 and includes music instruction and performance opportunities with members of the USD Music faculty. Activities include vocal and instrumental ensembles, as well as a variety of other musical activities. Opportunities for private lessons in a specific instrument or voice are also available.
