Denver business attorney, educator Robert Keatinge to present 2013 Gunderson Lecture at USD School of Law

VERMILLION, S.D. -- Robert R. Keatinge, a an attorney of counsel with the law firm Holland & Hart LLP in Denver, Colo., will present the 2013 Clark Y. Gunderson Lecture at the University of South Dakota School of Law at 4 p.m. on Monday, Oct.28 in the School of Law Courtroom.

An experienced attorney and teacher, Keatinge will present the lecture, “There is No Right Answer for the Wrong Question: Whither the Law? Reflections and Speculations on Questions, Answers, and the Future of Law and Legal Education.” His address is free and open to the public.

Keatinge practices in the areas of business organizations, taxation and professional responsibility. He has represented a wide variety of business organizations and their owners from small start-up companies to publicly traded corporations. Keatinge was a visiting associate professor at Suffolk University School of Law, and an adjunct professor at the University of Denver College of Law and the University of Miami School of Law. He is a fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel; a member of the American Law Institute; and is listed in the current Best Lawyers in America in three specialties (Corporate Governance and Compliance Law, Corporate Law and Tax Law) and in 2012; he was named the Denver Corporate Law Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers.

Held annually as a lecture or symposium with the support from the University of South Dakota Foundation, the Gunderson Lecture is the Law School’s preeminent lecture honoring Clark Y. Gunderson, a USD School of Law faculty member from 1934 to 1963. Gunderson devoted his life to public service and legal education. The lecture is provided through the Foundation trust fund established by the Gunderson family.
