Sounding length (currently), 572 mm. Board of Trustees, 1994. Little is known about the life of Philip Borkens (1693-ca. 1765), who worked in Amsterdam ca. 1724-1765. Although he is known to have made recorders, flutes, oboes, and clarinets, only eight instruments are known to survive, of which three are flutes.
