NMM 8614. "Harmonophone" harmonica with funnel-shaped resonator, Clover brand, Klingenthal, 1904. A vibrato or "wa-wa" sound can be obtained by moving one's hand over the wide end of the funnel while playing. Written on the underside of the cover of the harmonica's original wooden box: To Howard from Grandpa, Dec. 25, 1904. Alan G. Bates Collection, 2000.
