Course Description:Come join us for the 2nd Annual School Library Boot Camp on the campus of the University of South Dakota from July 21 - 24. This course is designed for school librarians, paraprofessionals, teachers and administrators. The 2013 focus is ShaZam! Multiple Literacies in the 21st Century School Library: Common Core Literacy Lessons, S.D. State Library Online Resources, Children's and YA Literature, and Emerging Technologies. Attendees can expect daily classes, hands on activities and plenty of time for collaboration with colleagues. Two undergraduate or graduate credits earned may be used toward certificate renewal and a school library certificate endorsement. Please Note: This course is for South Dakota Librarians only. |

Course Description:The Kindergarten Academy is designed for kindergarten teachers to gain ideas to strengthen relationships and interactions with their students, and design environments and activities that will support their efforts to help children reach the Common Core, individualize instruction, and address some of the challenges facing us as educators today. |

Course Description:This course is designed to provide students with the opportunity to acquire introductory information on the business disciplines as well as the opportunity to practice business decision-making within a simulated environment. Working with business school faculty, students, and practicing business people, the students will understand the role of business in today's world, the importance of critical strategic business analysis and group decision making, and begin to assess their interest in business as a career choice. |

Course Description:This interdisciplinary course has a focus on important topics concerning the Missouri River such as ecosystem restoration; impacts of dams,channelization, and flow modification; natural and cultural history of the river; and impacts of policy decisions on the river. The course will be a balance of in-class lecture and field trips to observe the Missouri River and its tributaries. The class will include material for K-12 teachers, but is open to all students. SMART Level I & II TrainingCourse: TET 792: SMART Level I and Level II Training Registration Deadline: June 18, 2013 Session Two Registration: Registration Deadline: July 30, 2013 *For the SMART Level I & II Training, in order to receive 1 credit, students must choose both Level I and Level II when they register through ACEweb along with 1 payment of $40 for the 1 credit. These courses can be taken separately for non-credit in which the registrants will only pay the $75 registration fee for each course.

Course Description:Level I: SMART Notebook Software Level I training is an introductory-level training event designed to help educators learn how to use the SMART board interactive whiteboard to improve daily work. This one-day training course is targeted for educators with little to no experience in using SMART Notebook Software and/or SMART Board interactive whiteboard. SMART Certified Trainers with K-12 classroom teaching experience will deliver the training. Level II: SMART Notebook Software Level II training is an intermediate-level training event. This one-day training is designed to help educators learn intermediate level skills, design fundamentals an develop interactive lessons using SMART Notebook Software.
