What is a signature file?
A signature file is a file that is attached to the end of your e-mail messages. It is common to find a name and an e-mail address in a signature file. Sometimes people also include a favorite quote or a disclaimer.
This page will give you step by step instructions to use Pico to create a signature file for your e-mail. A signature file is a system file that you must create in your directory.

An example of a possible e-mail signature might be something like this:

      _/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/
_/ If you can't say anything good about someone, _/
_/ sit right here by me. --Alice Roosevelt Longworth _/
   _/ ------------------------------------------------------ _/
_/ Brad W. James University of South Dakota _/
 _/ bwjames@usd.edu Vermillion, South Dakota _/
_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/

The next time you send an e-mail from Pine your signature file will automatically be added to the end of your message.

Once you get your signature file set up, send me (trio@usd.edu) a message so I can see that you have this mastered.
