Transfer Admission Requirements
Transfer students applying to the University of South Dakota should meet the following minimum requirements. Some specific programs and majors may have additional admission requirements.

Application Procedure

| US $20 Application Fee | Application Fees are non-refundable Submit your fee with your application to avoid delay in processing |
| College Transcripts | Official transcripts from each college or university you previously attended sent directly to USD |
| High School Transcripts | Official high school transcript sent directly to USD |
| Test Scores | Official ACT or SAT scores are required for transfer students under the age of 24 |
South Dakota Board of Regents Transfer Students
If the last school you attended is in the South Dakota Board of Regents System (BHSU, DSU, NSU, SDSMT or SDSU), you may apply to USD using the following BOR Transfer procedures:
- Meet the General Admission Requirements for transfers listed above
- Submit an application (or undergraduate re-entry form)
- Submit the $20 application fee*
*Exceptions to the fee are made for students who are non-degree seeking, or have previously applied, paid the fee and attended a university in the Board of Regents system within the previous three semesters.
Readmitted Students
If the last school you attended was The University of South Dakota and you are returning to USD after being away for a semester or more, you may apply as a Readmitted Student:
- Meet the General Admission Requirements for transfers listed above
- Submit an application (or undergraduate re-entry form)
- Submit the $20 application fee*
*Exceptions to the fee are made for students who are non-degree seeking, or have previously applied, paid the fee and attended a university in the Board of Regents system within the previous three semesters.
