Facilities
The Wegner Health Science Information Center opened in January 1998 and is named in honor of Dr. Karl and Mary Jo Wegner.  As Dean of the University of South Dakota School of Medicine, Dr. Wegner guided the school as it evolved from a two year institution to a four year degree granting institution.

Collection
The Wegner Health Science Information Center collection is focused on providing current, accurate, and quality medical and health information for healthcare professionals, students, and consumers.  The collection includes books, journals, and audiovisual materials.  Special collections include ethics and caring, children's medical and health books, and history of medicine.

Services and Training
The Wegner Health Science Information Center provides a full range of information services including in-depth reference and information consultations, quick question and answer reference, interlibrary loans, and article photocopy.  Bibliographic and computer instruction is provided one-on-one, in workshops, and in classes.
