    A Space Odyssey 's HAL, guest of honor Arthur C. Clarke judged a contest to suggest what the world-famous computer's first words would be today. The winning entry:
    "Good evening, doctors. I have taken the liberty of removing Windows 95 and all references to it from my hard drive."
