Boiled Cabbages

Don't overlook the simple cabbage as a vegetable. There are
plenty of complicated recipes for cabbages but quite a few
people really enjoy just plain boiled cabbage.

To cook, quarter cabbages and place in a large pot. Add water
so they can steam, lightly season with salt and white pepper,
place on heat, bring to boil, reduce heat to a simmer, leave on
the stove till needed, and serve hot.

The best cabbage I've had was lightly spiced with saffron and
served at Shattentor's Stag Hunt. I can't afford saffron, so I add
grated lemon peel to the water before boiling. It adds a delicate flavor.
