Nature in the city

It's a matter of extreme urgency to make our towns worth living in again and to restore Nature as a part of our environment. The age of purely exotic flower shows is over. The intention now is to initiate a new and consistent ecological approach to town planning. As far as Duderstadt is concerned, the 1994 regional exhibition means incorporating Nature as an integral part of town planning and not simply as something to be passively observed.

Go walking or cycling, discover castles, explore secluded villages and enjoy an activity holiday; the Eichsfeld is ideal for this. Sally forth from the town and experience the joys of Nature. Go for walks through the primeval countryside of the Eichsfeld and explore Duderstadt's attractive villages, The Seeburg lake, and the source of the Rhume river - a delightful area of natural scenic beauty and a popular destination for excursions.
Situated in the south of Lower Saxony (30 kilometres to the east of Göttingen), Duderstadt is quickly and easily accessible by car via the Göttingen North motorway exit.
