Student Rights & Responsibilities
All members of The University community are held to common standards for behavior outlined by the South Dakota Board of Regents in their Student Code of Conduct (SDBOR policy 3:4). The shared code helps to ensure that students, faculty, staff, and guests enjoy rich living, learning, and leisure opportunities in as safe and respectful an environment as possible.
The Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities (SRR) aids in developing citizen capacity through education and accountability. In addition to administering conduct process, SRR can assist with any questions related to policy and procedure such as how to refer misconduct, what to expect at a conduct meeting, and why you may choose an informal or a formal resolution option. Staff can also help in identifying campus resources to support student success.
Statement of Integrity:
We are committed to honesty, fairness, trust, respect, and taking responsibility for our actions.
These values are vital to our academic community. As students, faculty, and staff of The University of South Dakota, we make firm our commitment to integrity in word, work, and conduct. We agree to represent all work honestly, to abide by the professional and ethical standards of each discipline, and to insist upon the same commitment from all members of our academic community.
