The Department of Anthropology deals with human culture and biology, past and present.   The subfields of anthropology, such as archaeology, give you the opportunity to deal with excavation and interpretation of material remains left by past or extinct cultures.  Physical anthropology allows you to research humans and their ancestors as biological entities. Cultural anthropology lets you study humans as social beings - not just tribal groups living in exotic places.
