  • VERMILLION, S.D. -- The University of South Dakota announced today that Lena Tran of Sioux Falls, S.D., a senior Communication Studies major, is a recipient of a $3,000 Gilman Scholarship sponsored by the Department of State and the Institute of International Education for the Spring 2015 term.

    A new University of South Dakota undergraduate degree in sport marketing & media will help fill demand in the sport and sport entertainment industry, which Bloomberg News said is growing at nearly 5 percent annually and is projected to approach $68 billion by 2017.

  • USD and SDSU teamed up to host the Basic Course Directors and Instructor Regional Workshop

    The workshop was designed to develop skills in course design, assessment, training, campus and community advocacy, and was facilitated by Dr. Cheri Simonds from Illinois State University. Eighteen Basic Course directors and coordinators from the Midwest attended the conference.
