Students studying economics at the University of South Dakota are encouraged to take part in the Political Economy Club. The club strives to promote the intellectual and social development of students and to provide business and social contact for students, faculty and alumni. The club sharpens the listening, debating, speaking and leadership skills of students through vigorous and often entertaining discussion of the economic and political aspects of current issues. Forums with invited speakers and commentators are frequent throughout the semester. Faculty participation is strong, and the club provides a way for students to connect with faculty outside the traditional classroom environment.
