Molly Jo Scott performs throughout the United States on oboe and English horn. Growing up in northern California and returning to the state after her studies, Scott performed with the Sacramento Philharmonic, the Santa Rosa, Vallejo, and North State Symphonies, as well as many other regional orchestras in Northern California. She has also performed with the Williamsburg Symphonia in Virginia, the South Florida Symphony, and the Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra and Microscopic Opera in Pennsylvania. Under Maestro Lorin Maazel's baton, Scott participated in the Castleton Festival for three summers, including a tour to Muscat, Oman with a production of Puccini's La Bohème. Scott recently moved to Omaha, Nebraska, and has performed with the Sioux City Symphony (Sioux City, IA), Lincoln Symphony Orchestra (Lincoln, NE), and South Dakota Symphony (Sioux Falls, SD). Scott received her Bachelor's degree in Music from Drake University, studying with Jennifer Wohlenhaus. For her Master's degree in Oboe Performance, she attended Carnegie Mellon University, studying with Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra's principal oboist, Cynthia DeAlmeida. Other teachers include Carolyn Hove, Pamela Smith, Curtis Kidwell, and Tom Stacy.
