Concert Choir

The USD Concert Choir is the large select choral ensemble for undergraduate and graduate music students at the University of South Dakota. The 60–70 member ensemble is open to all university students regardless of major through audition at the beginning of the academic year. The Concert Choir performs a broad range of accompanied and unaccompanied choral literature as well as larger choral masterworks. Additionally, the ensemble has traveled throughout the state and region. They have performed with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, The South Dakota Symphony Orchestra, and the Sioux City Symphony, and have been selected to present concerts for state and regional conventions of the Music Educators National Conference and American Choral Directors Association.

The Concert Choir rehearses on Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons from 3:00 to 3:50 in the Choir Room of the Warren M. Lee Center for Fine Arts.

Auditions for the Concert Choir take place at the beginning of the fall semester. Should any openings occur, a spring semester audition may be scheduled.

Auditions include:

  • Sing "My Country Tis of Thee"
  • Scales Tonal
