Open to all students, be a part of the pageantry and the fun.
As part of The Sound of USD, you'll bring spirit and energy to Coyote football games to help the team deliver the win. The Sound performs at all home football games and at select away games. You'll also perform as the exhibition band at regional and international contests and festivals.
The band performs a wide variety of musical genres includes brass, woodwinds, percussion and color guard and twirlers. No marching experience? No problem. The Sound accepts music and non-music majors and previous marching experience is not required.
Band camp is held the week before classes begin. This fun-filled week includes learning music, basic marching fundamentals, drills and much more. Students are allowed to move into the dorms prior to band camp for free, avoiding the rush of move-in day. Preseason band camp is also a prime opportunity to meet people, make new friends, explore the campus and become familiar with our Coyote traditions.
