Dental Hygiene Student and Faculty

Scientific evidence has established a significant connection between oral and overall health.

The Department of Dental Hygiene at the University of South Dakota serves as the state’s only dental hygiene program, preparing students for state-of-the-art health practice, having completed an outreach-based, prevention-focused, patient-centered, interprofessional educational foundation that focuses on whole body wellness.

Students in the USD Dental Hygiene program are well prepared for the National Dental Hygiene board exam, which is required for licensure in any state. The program's success rate on this national exam has been 100% since 2005.
