Before starting the application process, make sure you meet the RN-BSN Admission Criteria.

The following must be completed in order to be considered for admission to The University of South Dakota Nursing Program.

Step 1: Admission to The University of South Dakota
Student must admitted to USD prior to the Nursing application deadline. To apply to USD, complete the online application or call 1-877-233-7937.  Official transcripts will be required. To ensure a timely review of the admission materials it is recommended you apply to USD by January 15 if you are applying for the fall semester admission to nursing classes.

Step 2: Application to the Nursing Program
Fall admission deadline: February 1
Introduction to Statistics is a co/prerequisite for the first semester of the RN-BSN program.

The following items must be COMPLETED and RECEIVED on or before midnight on the due date in order to be given full consideration.

Students who have been enrolled in a RN-BSN nursing program other than USD are eligible for selection into the USD nursing program as long as they have left the previous program in "good standing". One reference must be from the previous nursing chairperson, director or designee.
**It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure all references are submitted or or before due date.**

There is no fee to submit the University of South Dakota Nursing application. However, if you are admitted to the RN-BSN program and accept the conditional offer of admission, you will be required to complete a background check and drug screen through Verified Credentials, Inc., submit a deposit to USD to hold your position in the program, as well as become compliant with all USD Nursing & Health Sciences requirements (immunizations, CPR, physical exam, etc.).
