The University of South Dakota’s 2013-2020 Strategic Plan is the culmination of far-reaching discussions and information-gathering sessions involving a broad range of constituencies on campus and in the Vermillion community. Led by a 29-member strategic planning steering committee, the strategic plan was drafted in 2012 and further reviewed and updated in 2015. The strategic plan reaffirms the university’s vision to be the best small, public flagship university in the nation built upon a liberal arts foundation; identifies five strategic themes to which the university will devote particular attention in the coming years; and specifies the goals the university intends to achieve within each strategic theme.
