Welcome to The University of South Dakota
Department of International Student Advising

Welcome to the University of South Dakota. Founded in 1862, the U is the state's oldest university.

The University of South Dakota has been accredited through the doctoral level by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association since 1913. Individual schools and departments have received additional accreditation from their appropriate professional organizations.

A world of opportunity awaits you at the U. Our low student-to-faculty ratio means you receive personal attention. Over 80% of our full-time faculty hold doctoral or other terminal degrees in their field. As a research university, the U offers facilities and resources to allow you to learn by doing. You will also find a rich diversity at the U that will enhance your learning experience.
