Welcome to The University of South Dakota International Studies Program.

It's a small world, and global business, travel and communications are making it smaller every day.

International Studies helps students become internationally literate and familiar with diverse cultures, ideas, languages, politics, history, literature and more.  The interdisciplinary program prepares students for employment in education, business, government, journalism and other fields that increasingly seek graduates with both a liberal arts education and international understanding.

The U is the first public university in the state to offer a major in International Studies. A faculty with extensive international experience, opportunities for travel abroad, and exchange programs make the U an excellent choice for students with an interest in International Studies.

International Studies offers a major, double major or minor.

International Studies is an interdisciplinary program within the College of Arts and Sciences, the University's oldest academic unit.  The College of Arts and Sciences provides the foundation for all of the University's undergraduate students and offers outstanding preparation for graduate and professional programs.
