![]() Alcohol and drug abuse is one of the nation's most pervasive and persistent health problems. If affects people in all walks of life, from all backgrounds, and across all economic and social boundaries. The Alcohol and Drug Studies (ADS) department gives students the tools they need to meet a growing need for professionals skilled in drug and alcohol prevention, education, counseling and treatment. The ADS Department is accredited through the International Coalition of Addiction Studies Education (INCASE). The ADS program at The U is the only program in the region to offer a four-year undergraduate degree, and one of only a handful of such programs in the nation. The program combines a strong academic foundation with a real-world experience in counseling and prevention. Dona Kennealley, Ed.D.
