Welcome to

Continuing Medical Education

The Office of Continuing Education recognizes that the relationship of the adult learner and the provider of educational experiences must evolve into a more effective partnership. The learners, whether they are physicians, nurses or other healthcare providers, must assume an active role in managing their learning experience. Their recognition of individual needs and how they best learn must be considered in the process of education. With this in mind, goals and outcomes must be viewed differently not only with the traditional goal of gaining of knowledge but the incorporation of the knowledge which enables the learner to achieve improved performance and patient care outcomes. The role of the provider becomes more creative and innovative by offering activities that allow successful learner experiences in readily available formats.

The challenge is to use our available resources to achieve the best possible results. Continually evolving requirements, technology, funds, and personnel changes demand that the office be adaptive. It must be an efficient manager of resources, dedicated to its mission, and observant of accrediting rules and regulations. Ultimately, our role is to provide the best possible learning events.
