The CRI currently has a total of 51 employees - 7 full time faculty level investigators - 1 Research Operations Manager - 1 Animal Facility Manager - 2 Laboratory Managers - 8 Postdoctoral Fellows - 3 Research Staff Scientists - 8 Research Associates - 6 Graduate Students - 10 Students - 2 Animal Technicians - 1 Laboratory Aide and 2 Administrative Staff. In the past few years, investigators at the CRI have obtained more than $20 million in competitive research grants to fund their work from a variety of sources - The National Institutes of Health, The American Heart Association and numerous pharmaceutical companies. The mission statement of the Cardiovascular Research Institute is "to conduct basic and clinical research related to cardiovascular diseases that seriously impact the health of people around the world, in the hope to enhance the quality of all lives inflicted by cardiovascular disease."
