Occupational therapists help people develop or regain the skills they need for independent functioning, health and well-being. Occupational therapists work with people of all ages who, because of illness, injury or developmental or psychological impairment, need specialized help with these skills. The Occupational Therapy Program at The University of South Dakota is the only Masters-level occupational therapy program in South Dakota. The 2 1/2-year graduate course of study leads to the Master of Science degree and prepares students for entry-level positions in the field with emphasis on rural, multicultural and multiple-service delivery practices.
