Pre-Clinical Education
- Our first- and second-year medical students take their core pre-clinical medical and science courses on our Vermillion campus.
- The classrooms and laboratories in the new Lee Med Building are state-of-the-art and designed for team teaching and problem solving.
Clinical Education
- Because we are a community-based medical school, our third- and fourth-year students receive their clinical training at hospitals in Rapid City, Sioux Falls and Yankton. This approach exposes students to a broad range of medical experiences, fully preparing them for all areas of specialty interest.
Extraordinary Residency Preparation
- Often, our students receive more hands-on clinical training than students at other medical schools because the final two years are spent in a hospital setting. Our students tell us they are well positioned to succeed as residents after attending our school.
