2nd Annual Geriatrics Symposium: Dementia

Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias create significant challenges for patients, families and caregivers. This conference will provide updates of clinical and administrative efforts to address these challenges.

Attendees will:

  • Review and discuss preliminary investigations of the South Dakota Alzheimer's/Dementia Work Group, charged with developing a South Dakota state Alzheimer's plan
  • Discuss innovations and persisting barriers from the prospective of community-based services and institutional care
  • Hear from an experienced provider of telepsychiatry services to long-term care facilities
  • Compare and contrast approaches to the care and management of patients with Alzheimer's and other dementias from the perspectives of specialists in primary care, neurology, psychiatry and geriatrics
