2004 MPLA/CAL Conference Information

The 2004 CAL/MPLA Joint Annual Conference will be a joint conference with the Colorado Association of Libraries, to be held October 20-24, 2004 in Denver, Colorado. We look forward to seeing you in Denver this fall!

The MPLA Academic Section Professional Forum has placed a Call for Papers for the 2004 conference. The deadline for submissions is 01 August 2004.

The Colorado Association of Libraries and MPLA have issued a call for programs for the 2004 conference. (The deadline has been extended to 01 June 2004). There is a webform available for online submissions.

MPLA Vision Statement
MPLA will be a dynamic force in the professional development of librarians in the region by providing outstanding conferences, learning opportunities, an interactive web site and friendly, involved members resulting in informed librarians who enhance library services.

 

MPLA Mission Statement
The mission of the Mountain Plains Library Association is to further the development of librarians, library employees, and trustees and to promote quality library service in the states of the Mountain Plains Region. To achieve this mission, the Association shall pursue the following objectives:
  1. Encourage membership in the Association and member involvement in Association activities and services.
  2. Provide educational training and growth opportunities for all persons engaged in library activities in the region to enhance their skills and professionalism.
  3. Promote library interests of the Mountain Plains region within the member states and in national library organizations.
  4. Foster through librarianship public access to information and resources for life-long learning.
  5. Stimulate the application of computer and telecommunication technologies to improve library services.
  6. MPLA will actively seek new members, work to retain members, and increase the number of institutional members.
