USD exhibition ‘Washed Away’ at W.H. Over Museum

VERMILLION, S.D. -- Jessica Grage’s and Cole Zdenek’s Bachelor of Fine Arts graduation exhibition, “Washed Away,” is on exhibit at Sletwold Hall in the W.H. Over Museum located on the USD Campus, April 28 - May 10. A public reception for the artists is May 9 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The show features their artwork from The U.

Grage is an art education major with a photography emphasis from Marcus, Iowa. Her work includes a variety of nature related imagery, especially close-up shots of plant life. She used traditional black and white photography along with hand-applied emulsions to portray her ideas. Grage’s future plans include finding a job teaching art and exploring timed exposures in nature.

Zdenek is a fine art major with an emphasis in photography from Sioux Falls, S.D. His works are also done using hand-painted emulsions.  He also applies paint, colored pencils and writings.  His works are visual experiments that tell a narrative about the struggles of man and nature. Zdenek’s plans include graduate school.

The exhibition is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information about the exhibit, contact Cory Knedler, chair of the department of art, at (605) 677-5637 or cknedler@usd.edu.
