USD music professor honored for piano concerto by American Prize
Paul Lombardi, Ph.D., assistant professor of music at the University of South Dakota, placed third in the orchestral division of the American Prize in Composition 2014 with his piano concerto. The piano concerto was composed in 2003–04, and with a grant from the University of New Mexico, was recorded by pianist Dmitry Tavanets and the Kiev Philharmonic with conductor/producer Robert Ian Winstin (ERMMedia 2007).
