Social Work student in classroom

Make a difference in your community.

Social work is a profession for those with a passion for social justice and a desire to improve people’s lives. Social workers work with children, families, schools, public agencies and others in their communities.

You will develop skills in areas like:

  • Assessment and interviewing
  • Intake and referral
  • Case management
  • Crisis intervention
  • Community outreach
  • Advocacy
  • Research

We are the only public university in the state that offers bachelor's and master's degrees in social work. Our program will prepare you to strategically advocate for social change and gives you real-world experience through fieldwork and classroom learning.

We offer a full-time program so our students can become licensed clinical social workers. Our undergraduate and graduate degrees are accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
