Our services are confidential and offer a broad range of counseling, outreach and referral services for current and prior military personnel and their family members. Services provided include individual, couples and family counseling, support and educational groups and referral to other resources. There is no charge for services provided at the Veteran Center. Our mission is to provide post-service and post-combat readjustment to civilian life, including counseling for post-traumatic stress responses.

Military and veteran students have the opportunity to be paired with a USD student for duration of one semester. The sponsor program facilitates a smooth transition to campus life.

Your USD sponsor knows what it takes to be successful at USD. They have each been selected because of their active involvement on campus and are committed to going the extra mile to ensure you have a great experience at USD

Because USD is committed to honoring military service there is no cost to participate in the buddy program. If this is something you may be interested in, just sign up below.

How the sponsor program works:

• Complete sponsor request form
• A sponsor will be assigned to you within three working days
• First meeting will take place withing one week from being assigned sponsor
• When prompted, complete mid-semester review of sponsor
• When prompted, complete semester evaluation of sponsor

All sponsors are assigned for one semester only. We try to match as closely to your request as possible on the basis of availability. Buddies are only assigned to students enrolled full time and living on campus.
