The Testing Center at the University of South Dakota provides a variety of testing services for on-campus, off-campus and distance students:

Testing Center Hours: 

Summer Hours (May 11th - August 21st, 2015):

Testing Center in Vermillion, SD:
Monday - Friday: 9:00 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.

Fall and Spring Semester:

Testing Center in Vermillion, SD:
Monday - Wednesday: 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Thursday: 9 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Friday: 9 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.

CLEP, LTI, EMPCO, and ACT Residual Testing Hours:
Monday - Wednesday: 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Location:  The Testing Center is located in McKusick Room 201.

How to Schedule an Appointment:

Please schedule one business day in advance or a week in advance for midterms and finals.

Please include:  Class number (Example: PHGY-230), Teacher's name, Exam number, Student's name, Phone number, and ID number. 

Photo ID: 

Remember to bring your photo ID.  Students without a photo ID will not be permitted to take the test.  On campus students may have a teacher come with them to the Testing Center to vouch for their identity.

Acceptable Photo ID:

  • Student ID
  • Driver's License or government issued ID card
  • Passport

On Campus Courses:

On campus courses MATH 095 and MATH 102 do not require a scheduled appointment. However, if you would like to reserve a spot, you are welcome to do so. Give yourself at least an hour or more to take the test. Please do not come in less than fifty minutes before closing.

Prohibited Items:

Prohibited Items must be stored in your bag or with the proctor.

They Include:

  • Cell phones and any other electronic devices
  • Food and drink
  • Notes (unless specifically allowed by your instructor)
  • Textbooks
  • Dictionaries and other aids
  • All watches
