Student Learning Outcomes
The Masters of Arts (M.A.) in Speech-Language Pathology and the Doctor of Audiology (Au.D) residential educational programs at the University of South Dakota are accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, 2200 Research Boulevard, #310, Rockville, MD 20850, 800-498-2071 or 301-296-5700.

Program Overview
The Audiology Doctorate (Au.D.) degree provides you with the scientific and clinical knowledge and skills needed for the practice of audiology in an environment that values teaching, clinical excellence, and mentorship. Clinical experiences at the USD Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic and its affiliates include comprehensive behavioral and physiologic diagnostic and rehabilitative audiolog services for individuals age infant through elderly, as well as specialized services including, but not limited to, audiology electrophysiology, central auditory processing disorders, cochlear implant services, tinnitus, and disorders of sound tolerance. Note:
All graduate students completing graduate degrees in Communication Sciences and Disorders must meet the academic and clinical practicum requirements for the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in their area of emphasis by the end of their degree program. Specific academic and clinical practicum requirements for the degrees and national certification are contained in the department’s Student Handbook. Consult your advisor or the department chairperson.
