The 12-credit hour bioinformatics (BIOINF) certificate is offered both on campus and 100% online. It focuses on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools for biomedical engineering and biology-related projects. It aims to leverage machine learning and data science tools and techniques for data analysis, decision-making and data visualization by taking big data related to biomedical and healthcare informatics into account. BIOL/BME/CPHD 5xx/6xx/7xx/8xx Other graduate level courses (3 cr hrs) with bioinformatics and computational biology content, approved by the department chair of the student’s home department, can be considered.
