Beacom School of Business Named to Princeton Review’s Top 50 Online MBA Programs for 2027
This ranking is part of The Princeton Review’s broader Best Business Schools for 2027 report, which also features a list of the Best On-Campus MBA Programs. The organization chose its top 50 online MBA programs and tallied the rankings based on data from surveys conducted in 2025 and 2026 focused on 194 business schools offering online MBA programs.
More than 60 data points were factored into the program selections and rankings through two different surveys. The first survey went to administrators, who gave insight on program academics, faculty, career services and other topics. The second survey was given to students, who were asked to rate their program's academics, professors, and technology and to report on their satisfaction with their program as well as their career plans.
"Being highly ranked by The Princeton Review is a powerful affirmation of our mission to deliver an outstanding business education and transformative student experience while developing the future business leaders in the state,” said Klaus Beckmann, Ph.D., interim dean of the Beacom School of Business. “For a regional leader in business education, this recognition enhances our visibility, reinforces the value of our degrees, and reflects the dedication of our faculty, staff, students and alumni. Most importantly, it signals to prospective students and employers that we are preparing graduates to lead with confidence, integrity and impact in today's dynamic business environment.”
The business school’s MBA program pushes students to excel through classes that are designed to accommodate different learning styles, including an online option that provides flexibility for full-time professionals who want to advance in their careers or plan for a career change. Students can choose to take courses one at a time or complete the program in as little as 12 months, with academic standards that remain rigorous while the course design offers flexibility. The program is also one of the most affordable AACSB-accredited online MBA programs in the region.
The highly collaborative curriculum facilitates networking among graduate students from across the country, representing various backgrounds and experiences, while building a lasting connection with USD.
"The Princeton Review rankings reflect what matters most: student experience, academic quality and career outcomes," said Jewel Goodman Shepherd, Ph.D., associate dean of business graduate programs. "Earning this recognition strengthens our reputation as a premier regional business school and signals to prospective students and employers that our graduates are equipped to make an immediate and lasting impact."
Beacom's online MBA has served working professionals since 2007 and has been recognized by The Princeton Review as one of the top programs since 2015.
