Lamprecht, program assistant II, has worked at the Beacom School of Business for five years. This is the first time she has won the award.

We asked Lamprecht about the award and more. Here’s what she had to say.

How did it feel to win this award?

I am extremely thankful, and humbled at the same time, to have been nominated for this award.  My trademark is to always have an open door to my colleagues and to be as helpful as I can be to anyone in this school that needs me, extending from the dean, to the faculty, staff, custodians and every student that enters this building.

It’s an awesome feeling to be acknowledged by our peers for my dedication and loyalty to this school. I hope I am part of this institution for many years to come. I have had wonderful mentors, made forever friends and fostered relationships across campus that I will always be grateful for.

What different functions do you perform for Beacom?

That is a loaded question. My main function is the finances of Beacom, but to say it stops there would be inaccurate. I do payroll, HR liaison, contracts, events, Foundation accounts, purchasing, travel, Coyote Business Consulting processing, the Tech Fellow Program and on and on. Honestly, I seem to have my hand in most things, unless it has to do with student services or advising. I leave that to the professionals.

What do you enjoy most about working at Beacom?

Everything! I am very proud to be a part of a school that sets our students up for a bright future. It is great to walk among administration, faculty and staff members that truly care about our students and this part of their journey. We are truly world class, and just to be a part of something so phenomenal makes me so proud. We are like a family here, and I love that atmosphere.

How does the Beacom staff help students succeed?

I see it every single day. Even though I am less involved with the student services side, I do know Beacom, as a whole, is always finding ways to give our students the very best -- whether that is through networking events to bring potential employers right to them or career fairs or having top-notch advisors to help direct them and their college career. We are very good at providing opportunities for internships and real-life job experience through opportunities through our Coyote Business Consulting program. The staff is always seeking out new and innovative ways to help our students succeed, and it’s exciting to be a part of that.
