On March 9 in Farber Hall, Liggins spoke to the audience about the value of embracing traumas and establishing people in life to cultivate close relationships with. He also spoke about the importance of emotional intelligence (EQ) in the workplace and how EQ can be a more effective measure of potential success than IQ.

Liggins graduated from USD with his B.A. in criminal justice and leadership studies in 2008 and with his MPA in 2011. He was also a member of the USD track team and was a six-time All-American hurdler and NCAA DII national hurdles champion. Through his presentation, he talked about his college and career success amid balancing internal struggles.
