USD and South Dakota Trade to Host International Trade Seminar March 14 in Rapid City
The University of South Dakota and South Dakota Trade are hosting an International Trade Seminar on Thursday, March 14, from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. MDT at the Holiday Inn Downtown in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Attendees will learn from USD professors and industry practitioners about the ins and outs of international trade, including Midwest exports, international negotiation skills and international financial instruments.
Event topics and speakers include the following.
- “Overview of International Trade and Midwest U.S. Exports” by David Carr, Ph.D., chair and professor of economics, Beacom School of Business.
- “Overview of International Negotiation Skills” by Tyler Custis, J.D., assistant professor, Beacom School of Business.
- “Overview of International Financial Instruments” by James Driver, Ph.D., assistant professor of finance, Beacom School of Business; and Michael Salerno, vice president, international banking, corporate banking, FNBO.
- “Managing the International Negotiation Process” by Tyler Custis, J.D., assistant professor, Beacom School of Business.
The cost of the International Trade Seminar is $100 and registration is required. Continental breakfast and lunch are included.
