“Atmospheric Thinking” is a juried open-call exhibition showcasing a selection of artwork that highlights contemporary perspectives across a range of media, exploring the many ways artists interpret atmosphere, whether environmental, emotional, social or imagined. The exhibition invites visitors to consider how atmosphere influences perception, memory, place and one’s relationship to the world around them.

The exhibition will be on display July 10 to Aug. 7 in the John A. Day Gallery at the Warren M. Lee Center for the Fine Arts on the USD campus in Vermillion.

A closing reception will be held on Friday, Aug. 7, from 5 to 7 p.m., featuring live music by the Vermillion band Fine Mess. The reception is free and open to the public, allowing attendees to meet participating artists and celebrate the exhibition with the community.

The University Art Galleries are open Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free, and all are welcome.
