Those who nominated her say Tuffs is resourceful, willing to go the extra mile, is reliable and takes initiative. She has picked up extra duties recently, yet she never complains and does the job of two people with accuracy and dependability.

As the department’s education assistant, Tuffs is responsible for scheduling student rotations in pediatrics. She took the initiative to assume the chair role for the monthly education assistant meetings and is very knowledgeable about the SSOM curriculum, making her a valuable member of the SSOM team.

“Angie is an incredible employee who consistently goes above and beyond her duties to support the department, colleagues, faculty and students,” said Dr. Michelle Baack, Tuffs’s supervisor. “She takes on large projects that develop innovative solutions for faculty and staff.”

Recently, she built a Qualtrics survey to collect and manage data for the department’s annual report, publications, evaluations and the promotion and tenure process. She also helped initiate and execute a department monthly update with department information and links to registration for meetings all in one communication.

She additionally took on the monumental task of managing the department’s new Pediatric Topic of the Month didactic series which facilitates evidence based, content-driven, uniform learning through use of self-study modules and one didactic board review session for a set topic each month.

“Angie has grown our department’s value by leaps and bounds this year and her incredible work ethic, dedication and service should be recognized,” said Dr. Baack. “I could not be luckier than to have Angie on our team.”
