USD Sanford School of Medicine to Host Hooding Ceremony on May 8
The ceremony will recognize graduates from the Class of 2026 as the new physicians move on to the next stage of their training at clinics, hospitals and health care facilities across the nation.
The featured speaker for the ceremony is Russell J. Ledet, M.D., Ph.D., MBA, a triple board resident physician at the Indiana State University School of Medicine. He is known for his work focusing on culturally responsive mental health education and resilience grounded in a deep respect for the nuanced realities of rural and urban communities.
The event will take place at the Sanford Pentagon.
USD will host commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Sanford Coyote Sports Center in Vermillion, South Dakota. The graduate/professional ceremony will be held at 2:30 p.m. and students will receive further instruction via email.
